Well after a ling train ride last night we arrived in a region of India that was night and day from Dehli. There are stll lots of vehicles on the roads, but it's orderly. There are traffic lights, sidewalks a and I didn't see one Ox , donkey or horse on the road. There are modern malls and stores, although my schedule left American Express empty today. Hey, there is always hope for tomorrow. As usual our days have been starting out with 90 minutes of yoga. we did all different postures from yesterday .Fran also lead us in some chakra sounds which was kind of neat.Physically the yoga is easy for me , but here in India it is exactly what we should be doing....really spending time in the pose, feeling it's power, feeling the breath.Did some arm Inversions at the end ...it was great. Next was breakfast and a quick run to an ATM, since I hadn't gotten any rupees yet. . Then for a nice swim in the pool and off to the Golden Temple, the most famous site around here. it is the most Important religious place to the Sikhs. My head had to be covered and shoes stowed away as we walked around this magnificent complex with a huge floating Golden temple in the middle of a giant pool of water where some male pilgrims may cleanse themselves.

My first view
As we walked around I admired the women in their beautiful saris and salwar kameez,so colorful and ornate. Our group was once again an enigma, as children ,young boys and other woman came Up to me I would say at least 70 times asking if the could have a "snap"- this means a picture with me and them. So if I start making the Facebook. Rounds let me know. They were so polite , thanking me and shaking my hand...even the littlest there. No begging or anything. The whole experience was touching and it sded a beautiful warm light on the people of India.

I want you to feel at home when you get back, so Eric, Cookie, Nala, Shayna & I have been busy - we've sold most of the furniture and bought a lot of mats. The Pups have been breaking them in quite nicely, so that the aroma should come close to immitating the streets of New Delhi. We've bought a few cows, chickens & monkeys - we've only gotten a few complaints from the neighbors and 3 notices from the homeowners' association. Eric & I are having a little hard time with the Vegan diet but I'm convinced in 5-10 years we'll get used to it (I'm sure he'll keep it up in NYC). I've lent our kitchen to a nice Indian family so by the time you get back we'll have appropriate aroma of curries throughout the house. I'm looking into importing a few of the small children and monks seen in your photos, but apparently even under the Obama administration we can't do this through normal channels - they suggested you send them through Mexico. That's all for now - I need to go to my Yoga teacher training.
