A slideshow.....from Rishikesh to Haridwar- part 1

Today was a another day full of enlightening experiences further allowing me to see the underneath beauty in a country so full of poverty and filth.I am truly beginning to peel back India's layers and allow my sense of curiosity to open my mind up to true beauty in this multifaceted, complex culture. As usual it was 7 am yoga except today I was the guest teacher! I taught a 2 hour vinyasa flow class, which turned out to be a hot yoga class because a power shortage cut our fans out. it got very hot quickly. But it was well received by my students and Fran told me I was a "gifted teacher with many talents to give to my students" this made me feel good, especially coming from such a joyful, compassionate and expert teacher that she is. After yoga , we ventured out on a temple tour of Rishikesh and I saw parts of the town that I had not ventured into before. They were cleaner, more spacious and less crowded. Below is a slide show of my day.....enjoy ...I did!

The first temple we stopped in was dedicated to the monkey Hanuman( the pose Hanumanasana (splits) originated from this monkey god. )Here Fran and I pose with our monkey god. Do you love the ponchos? It was still
drizzling.

Beautiful fruit , no can touch!! It's been washed in Indian water. In hotel we get great pineapple, mango and papayas that are peeled and washed in filtered water.
